SWEATS IS THE WORK OF MULTIDISCIPLINARY
ARTIST PIERRE HADLOW.

Bold and instinctive, SWEATS creates work rooted in feeling over formula, exploring rhythm, movement and fragments of the human experience. Faces and figures emerge from abstraction, drifting into hyperphantasia — thoughts take shape, colour feels like sound and texture carries mood. Impulsive imperfections make something raw, off-beat and alive — finding beauty in the unrefined.

Gestural marks, fractured type and lo-fi textures sample visual languages from art, music and print culture. Multiple mediums are layered and worked with traditional, found and improvised tools, building depth through chance, collision and glitch.

Spanning painting, design, murals, print, sculpture and art toys, SWEATS has built a practice across Aotearoa, Australia, the UK and Asia. Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, his work lives between disciplines — each idea finding its form in whatever medium fits, moving freely between studio, street and screen.
